Performances tonight include Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Brent Eldredge, and many more during the three hour event as Bryan and Bently prepare to reunite Luke’s former co-host, Blake Shelton, decided not to co-host this year.
Doesn’t sound like Luke Bryan is too sad about Shelton not returning this year, according to an interview with CMT, as he’s ready to work with a co-host that’s up to the task.
“Dierks gets the job done,” Bryan told me about the chemistry with his new co-host since Blake Shelton opted out. “Late in the day the other day, someone gave us a Fireball Whisky shot, and we were buzzing. So I spent an hour where I did not answer any questions really serious.”
“And I said, ‘Dierks, imagine three years of that with Blake. Blake never answered a question seriously. Maybe one out of 20 he’d answer seriously,’” Bryan said.
So far Academy of Country Music has revealed Eric Church’s “Mr. Misunderstood” will be the 2016 Video of the Year recipient. Church is nominated in four additional categories including male vocalist, album of the year, entertainer of the year, and vocal event of the year. Tune in tonight at 8/7c to find out who wins big at the 51st ACM Awards on CBS and CBS All Access.
