Madam Secretary (CBS) premiered tonight after a significant delay due to sporting events. Despite that, plenty of people took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the pilot. (Although, it did not seem to ever get trending in the US during the EST airing.) Aside from fans hoping the show would have high enough quality to be their new fall show and fans gushing about Leoni’s performance, there were plenty of references to both Scandal and The West Wing.

The informal consensus was that the show, even in the style it is filmed, resembles The West Wing. The quirky characters, serious topics, and fast-paced dialogue all added to this comparison.
