Moonlight Picked Up by The CW to Air with The Vampire Diaries (Could they give us a Moonlight Season 2?)

Moonlight fans can rejoice! …Well, kinda. While Moonlight remains canceled, THE CW has picked up the show to air on Thursday nights, starting on June 3rd, 2010. Moonlight will air at 9pm ET, and will be followed by encore episodes of The Vampire Diaries season 1.

The series starred Alex O’Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon. There is sadly only one season of Moonlight, but I wonder if there is any hope of a revival. It was a solidly fun series to watch, if sometimes more of a guilty pleasure than a show of Emmy-caliber.

O’Loughlin is in the spotlight right now for starring in the Jennifer Lopez movie The Back-Up Plan, and while his Three Rivers series has been canceled, he has filmed a pilot for a 2010 version of Hawaii Five-O . Needless to say, he is probably not available to be back on Moonlight. However, Jason Dohring had a character in Moonlight that I think I, and fellow Moonlight fans, believe was someone that could possibly become the new lead of the series if they wanted to branch off into a continuation of the show. We’ve contacted The CW for a response about this, and will let you know if we hear back!

Clueless about what the show is about?
