Some fans may have been stunned by the outcome of the most recent episode of The Vampire DiariesHaunted –  but I loved it. The character of Vicki (Kayla Ewell) just really didn’t seem interesting to me. She was too impulsive but also crazy-predictable. When she got staked by Stefan I was praying she was actually gone and it wasn’t just some sort of vampire trick to paralyze her. (Can you tell my vampire lore for different shows is getting jumbled?) Kevin Williamson talked to TVGuide.com about killing off Vicki.

On if Vicki is gone for good… Williamson: No. She could come back in a flashback or a dream. But no, she’s done. I mean, she goes. She’s dead. Dead is dead. I guess there’s always a way, but I don’t think so.

Did they have other targets in mind to kill off before Vicki?Williamson: Well, no, we just thought this would end a chapter, Vicki would be the first vampire staked on our show. It was exciting to see it go down. She dies beautifully. It’s really sad because this is about Jeremy. We’re dealing with two people who have lost their parents. You can only imagine what it’s going to do to him. It’s pretty powerful, good stuff.

P.S. I understand that Elena was wearing her costume from last year, but if your parents just died in a horrible car accident would you REALLY  feel okay about wearing a sexy nurse costume? And her ex boyfriend wearing scrubs with blood stains? I think I would freak.
