The Suit: It’s a white bikini with a triangle top and gold metal circles.
What happens: Typically suited to get the attention of a mainly male demographic, seeing Sarah emerge from the water in slow motion is a perfect movie moment that makes us have some body envy. It’s so freaking glamorous, she’s even wearing large gold earrings in the pool.
Who: Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars and Amanda Seyfried as Lily Kane
Show: Veronica Mars, UPN (The CW)
The Suit: Two pink bikini’s.
What happens: It’s our goodbye to Lily Kane, and it’s got both girls in a dream state as they float in a pool. Lily says it’s time to say goodbye now that Veronica has solved her murder. It’s bittersweet and all about the idealized innocence of their teenage friendship.

Show: Alias, ABC
The Suit: A miniscule blue bikini
What happens: This is another slow motion scene where our leading lady rises out of the pool. Without even taking a towel, Sydney slips into a pair of blue heels. She lets her target get a look at her, as she acts unaware. Blotting her face with a towel, she then takes a sheer, patterned sarong and ties it around her waist as she walks away from the pool.
Who: Maggie Grace as Shannon Rutherford
Show: Lost, ABC
The Suit: An orange bikini
What happens: In the first season of Lost, Shannon is kind of a brat. No, she’s definitely a brat. And instead of help people, she decides that they’ll all be saved soon and she’d rather lay out on the beach and get a tan in her spare time. Little did she know what was going to happen. It’s an image of extreme ignorance and snobbery, and that’s why it gave us a villain type to explore right away.

What happens: The Glee club performs in the pool (“We Found Love”) as Will gears up to propose to Emma.

Show: Revenge, ABC
The Suit: Simple one piece in a dark navy, with a white robe worn over it.
What happens: This is one of the first times we see Emily. She seems almost innocent, standing on the beach. The simpleness of her appearance in no way shows you what’s under her surface – a very complicated web of scheming!
