Is ‘Harry Brown’ Even Worth my Time?
| April 30, 2010 at 11:27 PM EDTI am having trouble deciding (like that’s new, ha) whether the movie Harry Brown will be awesome or depressingly horrible. It’s being released in theaters in the US – well, tonight actually. So, there you go. It’s a crime/thriller movie that stars Michael Caine and Emily Mortimer. Those are two great film actors. But that alone does not make a movie. (Example: Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts in The Mexican.)
Plot synopsis: Set in modern day Britain, HARRY BROWN follows one man’s journey through a chaotic world where teenage violence runs rampant. As a modest, law abiding citizen, Brown lives alone. His only companion is his best friend Leonard. When Leonard is killed, Brown reaches his breaking point. HARRY BROWN is a powerful, character driven thriller starring two-time Academy Award® winner Michael Caine in a tour-de-force performance.
Add it to your Netflix que at your own risk. Seems like they told most of the story in the trailer.
