Today, Dr. Oz talked about what foods to eat when you’re angry. And here they are! These tips were brought to Dr. Oz (and us) by By Frances Largeman-Roth, RD – who is a Food and Nutrition Expert, as well as a New York Times best-selling author. When you’re stressed or your blood sugar is low, you’re more likely to rage. So what you need are foods to battle this.
Kiwi
If you’re angry in the morning, you’re probably stressed. Vitamin C is your antioxidant solution! But don’t chop it up, eat it fresh to retain the properties of the VC!
Pumpkin Seeds
For a mid-morning snack, try pumpkin seeds. They’ll help regulate your blood sugar and gives you higher magnesium to keep your blood pressure steady. Have 1/4 cup at a time.
Barley
Barley is better than pasta or rice! It helps your blood sugar steady. One cup a day will do ya.
Peanuts and Popcorn
Yes, we mean for you to eat them together! This is great as a late-day snack. Peanuts (unsalted, roasted) have B vitamin foliate to make serotonin. Popcorn give you some nice carbs which act as fuel for your brain to keep working. This way you’ll be full and happy! Mix 1 ounce of peanuts with 1 cup of popcorn.
Hot peppers
Capsaicin heightens endorphins. Have one small pepper 4 times a week.
So, there you go. Next time you’re angry, you can blame the fact you didn’t have your barley and peanuts! These are pretty easy fixes, so try incorporating these into your day.
