If you’re looking for a mysterious, teen thriller to watch this summer, your search is over. Twisted will join the ABC Family lineup of original shows this summer.

The new is a one-hour mystery that follows a “charismatic” 16-year-old with a troubled past who reconnects with his two best friends (both females) from childhood. This young man becomes the prime suspect in a murder when a student is found dead in her home. The series stars Avan Jogia, Maddie Hasson, Kylie Bunbury, Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.

Danny Desai (Avan Jogia) – He’s 16 years-old and was accused of killing his aunt when he was young. Now that he’s been released from his custody and tries to return home and see his best friends, another murder is pinned on him. But he wants to prove he didn’t do it.

Jo (Maddie Hasson) – She was friends with Danny as a kid. She’s also the one who discovered the body of his dead Aunt. She’s not beloved in town, and won’t be now that she is going to go to bat for Danny with the new allegation.

Lacey (Kylie Bunbury) – She is another one of Danny’s old friends. She’s become very popular in the past several years, and is no longer friendly with Jo.

Tess (Kimberly Quinn) – Jo’s mother. She trusts in Danny.

Karen Desai (Denise Richards) – Danny’s mother. She was once very popular but not anymore.

The previous title for this show was “Socio”. The production company is Pariah Prodco. Executive producers are Gavin Polone, David Babcock, and Adam Milch. The producer is David Hartle.
