The latest drama from ABC Family is much more of a flop than you’d hope.

The Plot is good…

You know, I have to admit that the plot is fairly intriguing to me. We have a murder from the past that probably wasn’t committed by the person who got the blame…and a new murder with no current suspects. We’ve also got a big outcast, and then his two former friends who have become estranged. It’s full of goodies and rich history to explore.

However…

I sense this series will have even worse ratings than The Nine Lives of Chloe King. This is not the next Pretty Little Liars for ABC Family.

What I think the problem will be…

Most of this series rests entirely on the actor who plays Danny Desai, Avan Jogia. Not only do fans have to like the “bad boy image” but he’s even got long hair… and that, plus is worn wardrobe doesn’t really make him look like a winning leading man. And it’s the look, I think, that is the problem. It’s not about whether Jogia is handsome or not, he is. But with his hair and clothes how they are on the show….and having a character who admits to murder (whether he really is guilty or not)….well, it’s hard to get on board with this guy. I don’t think he’s the dreamboat that girls found in other TV badboys like Caleb on Pretty Little Liars, and I don’t think this series will last too long. Plus, anything with Denise Richards on board automatically seems like a joke.

Verdict

ABC Family should stick with Bunheads, The Lying Game, and Pretty Little Liars.
