Ahh mid June. The days are longer, the air warmer, the sweet southern scent of jasmine and magnolia flowers waft on the night air, and the undead in Louisiana finally come back out to play.

Yes, it’s that time of year again, Trubies! Tonight was the season 6 True Blood premier and I’m really hoping we get the title question answered sometime soon because a lot of wacky things are going on with some of our most beloved citizens of Bon Temps.

Last season left us with the Authority in shambles and Bill reemerging from a sticky pile of goo as Billith and this premier picks up right then and there. I’m pretty sure it’s been like, the same week for the past two years now. But the important thing is that Bill didn’t stay all bloody and angry because, I’ll be honest, I was worried about this. So allow me to go off on a tangent for just a minute. . . .

I like Bill. A lot. Hell, I love the guy. And I’m seriously beginning to think I’m the only one. It seems like on all the unofficial message boards I come across, or all the comments I read on random True Blood articles one thing is prevalent: people hate Bill! Why is this? Because they just prefer Eric? But if I’m capable of liking both Bill and Eric at the same time then surely others are as well? So it can’t just be that. So what is it? No, I mean, I’m really asking because I can’t figure it out. In a completely accurate and extremely scientific poll I posted on my Facebook page asking all my True Blood watching friends who they preferred, Bill or Eric, 100% answered Eric. . . .Okay, that’s technically not true, because no one bothered to respond to my poll but I do know for a fact that two of my friends who watch the show like Eric better.

But back to the episode at hand. After everyone flees the Authority Jessica is summoned, rather painfully, by Bill and she and Sookie take off to find him and we learn that Bill apparently has super powers now. I love that Jessica is sticking with him and I’m feeling a little, dare I say it, ‘shippy? Bill himself seems to not understand what’s going on with him and like he’s really trying to be honest with everyone so what is Sookie’s problem? I’m really getting tired of Sookie! And her precious fairy vagina!

Guess who I’m also getting fed up with? Eric! Yes, yes, everyone’s beloved. Well, personally I’d like to smack him upside the head. He’s still being a complete jerkface to Pam and I’m getting sick of it. Don’t get me wrong, I actually really like Nora, so I’m not complaining that he’s spending time with her, but there’s just no need to be such an ass to Pam. He owes her more than that.

Quick True Blood Season 6 Review Thoughts:

* I don’t know what’s going on with Bon Temps’ fair mayor but I’m guessing he has some sort of hidden agenda. I mean, doesn’t everyone in politics?

* Rutger Hauer is freaking awesome in everything he does.

* Does anyone else think Alcide might go a little power crazy being the new Pack Master? I won’t mind though as long as he keeps taking off his shirt.

* Ohh Andy. I hope he and Holly can work things out.

* Sam’s a dad now too? Ugh, for some reason this really annoys me. Wouldn’t Emma rather live with her Grandma than a guy who dated her mom for a little while? And shouldn’t Luna’s last words have been to her daughter instead of working out custody arrangements??

My hope for this season is that all the vampires stick together (that includes Eric being nice to Pam and Bill being part of the gang again) and we don’t have to suffer through yet another Sookie/Random New Dude relationship. And I want the southern gothic feel back that was so abundant in seasons one and two. But whatever happens I’ll always be coming back for more. Let’s face it, I’m such a sucker for this show. . . .
