Find out what we hope happens to Sookie (Anna Paquin), Tara (Rutina Wesley), Bill (Stephen Moyer), Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) during True Blood season 5!
After a long cold winter and a boring uneventful spring, summer is finally here and you know what that means? True Blood season 5! This Trubie has been practically marking off the days on her calendar like a kid counting down to Christmas. It’s not just the start of the new season that has me in a lather but how the end of last season will be explained. Can you say ‘cliffhanger?’ Needless to say I’m not only excited but nervous as well. So I’ve put together a little wish list of sorts; a breakdown by character of how I’d like to see things play out. Spoilers for season 4 ahead! Seriously, turn back now if you haven’t seen the whole season!
Tara: I’m doing Tara first because she clearly has the most at stake here. How exactly do you fix a massive gunshot wound to the head?? Bactine and a bandage isn’t gonna cut it! So what could unfold in those precious first minutes of the season premier? Well, practically anything. Maybe it was a dream. Maybe Sookie has special healing fairy powers that she quickly learns? Could it be possible that Bill or Eric or even Pam bursts through the door and somehow saves her? You know, if she wasn’t instantly dead and despite the sunlight. I’d kind of love it if Eric saved her and from that moment on she became attracted to him. What with her feelings toward vampires and the drama with Sookie, Bill, and Eric I think it would make for some mighty fun TV. What I DON’T want to happen is for Tara to become a ghost because I really don’t want her to actually die.
Sookie: We can argue all day long whether or not Sook murdered Debbie in cold blood or if it was self-defense, the fact remains that she (most likely) killed a human. Bitchy or not. This will certainly have ramifications on her psyche and could either turn her into an un-feeling bad girl or a sickly-sweet crusader for the good of mankind. Either way I think we’ll still see the Bill-Sookie-Eric triangle continue to play out even if Sookie thinks she can give up both of them. In a perfect world I’d like to see her back with Bill, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at the possibility of a relationship between her and Alcide.
Bill: Straight up I’d like to see more bad-ass Bill. I like him tough and rough and exerting his power as king. While I’m demanding things I’d also love to see more of his relationship with Jessica.
Eric: Oh Eric, my evil Viking vampire, please tell me you’ll be back to your nasty tricks this season! I long for the Eric of old, the one ripping people apart and lording over Fangtasia with utter boredom. The Eric/Sookie fan base is huge and I know the writers know this, so I don’t expect a big change in that dynamic. But is he truly “good?” I don’t know. The main thing that I really want to happen with Eric is that he repairs his damaged relationship with Pam.
Jason: Clearly something is going to go down with the arrival of a vamped out Steve Newlin. I don’t want Jason to be turned but I think great comedy hijinks could occur if he tries to er, “domesticate” Newlin. As for the continuing relationship between Jason and Jessica, I’m torn. No doubt they make a hot couple but I don’t think either wants to hurt Hoyt and I hate the thought of him and Jason not being friends anymore.
As for everyone else, I’m staying open minded and am looking forward to where the writers are going to take them. However, I’m hoping Alcide is shirtless for most of the season and that Lafayette goes back to his season 1 hair. Have a True Blood season 5 wish list? Sound off in the comments!
