Is True Blood actually more scandalous than Porn?
Which came first, True Blood or porn? Well, porn. But if you have to look at current TV shows to see is the most scandalous, and full of the most nudity you’d have to bypass reality shows The Girls Next Door (which is set at the Playboy mansion, home to plenty of nudity) and skip straight on over to this HBO series that’s as addictive as it is naughty.
In a piece written by Brian Donovan for True/Slant, the question of True Blood vs. Porn is asked. Specifically what’s, “The difference between ‘True Blood’ and pornography?” if there is any. While Donovan doesn’t question the entertainment value of the show, he wonders if there can be much quality left in it at the end of the day. We think it’s a valid point to discuss. Sometimes watching the show makes us feel like we’re getting away with something – because this isn’t what a serious TV program (vs. reality TV fluff) is supposed to feel like.
….True Blood is a very popular program. Big with the dudes, big with the ladies, it’s a hit. Sometimes even it gets nominated for awards. But, let’s be honest, True Blood is humping with the occasional dash of dialogue thrown in. You take “doing it” out of the show’s breakdown every week and you got a 20 minute program. – Donovan

.There is probly a max of 2 sex scenes per episode, and these scenes dont last for more than a minute each…
. In porn the actors are shit.
. In porn the story line is shit.
. True blood sex scenes arent hard core. The most nudity you see is boobs.
Also what is your problem with the sex scenes. This show is about their daily lives, and isnt sex a part of peoples daily lives?
Lastly if it doesnt feel like a serious show to you, you must be watching something different to me because most of the time it is serious.

….to add to luke, also much of the sex also relates to the plot, hence sookie questioning eric after he paused from having 6 hrs of sex with estonian. when the plot changes eric will not be having this kind of sex anymore once he a sookie get “closer” in plot as well as physically…but we still dont know when that will actually happen. right now its all suspense & mystery.
….and reviewers talk about “full frontal nudity” of eric’s estonian squeeze but she was not fully nude. she had a semi nude semi-transparent covering over her lower frontal area. people act as if we saw a centerfold with legs open, this WAS NOT THE CASE!!!! same goes for sookies bro. right now he cant have sex. he is hallucinating all the time. compared to his town stud behavior, his character is undergoing plot development. he is in for a big surprise. his sexcapades all related to plot just like a normal mystery movie compared to a porn flick. what fucking porn flick had any plot to begin with!!!????? you cant see anything in the sex scenes sometimes unless you do screen captures which is not how these scenes were intended to be watched. oh then Pam going down on the estonian. that was pure camp like any other rated r humor flick and even then pam’s actions were IMPLIED NOT SEEN!!!! GIVE ME A FUCKIN BREAK!! look at the 5th element. there is a similar seen with the black dude with the corncob afro going down on his chick. didnt see anything but it was implied and done for shock & humor value. was it rated x material? no but rated r. look at bill and the lorena twisted head “sex”. whtf did we actually see??!!!! it was almost comical. but that was part of what you saw. a rated r seen that was camp/horror/drama all rolled into one. also not everyone is watching this show for “serious drama.” i watch it just like a watch House, Supernatural or even 24. because i like it and its entertaining in its own way.
