Heroes being canceled was pretty sad news, even though the series had declined in entertainment value. But there is great hope that NBC will let them come back for a miniseries or TV movie event to end Heroes properly.

The way Heroes ended in February (it’s been a while!) was with Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) outing herself as someone with superpowers. Tim Kring has told TV Guide that if they get to bring Heroes back, he’ll pick up a year or two to see what has happened in the world after that. Kring is meeting with NBC this June, so hopefully they can work something out for Heroes.

Best Moment of Heroes Season Four Finale

“There will be a huge cultural and social change in the world,” says Kring. “Some [of our characters] will be hiding, some struggling, some basking in the glory.”

Claire, who desperately wanted a normal life, will become a reluctant spokesperson for the abnormals. Sylar (Zachary Quinto) will again struggle with his dark side. And Adrian Pasdar will likely return, though not as Nathan, who died.

“I’ve spoken with everyone,” said  Kring. “They’re all eager to participate.” Which is good news. Hopefully everyone will want to honor the series, even as some stars have become bigger, and will likely stick to movies in the future (Zachary Quinto, ahem). And the fact that they’re willing to bring Adrian Pasdar back (though it seems slightly dumb…) is a good sign that everyone else who is asked back, would return. From watching events and seeing how Pasdar acted with everyone, especially when making his videos for fans to watch on Youtube, it seemed like he was really like the heart of the group. And while Greg Grunberg is signed to be a series regular on Love Bites, I’m sure he’d make time! Let’s get our Heroes back for one last hurrah.
