Inexplicably, I found myself watching The X Factor again tonight. (Waiting for Glee.) Of course, I made it no secret that I enjoyed how cheeky and blunt Britney Spears has been with her comments. (I love when reality is slapped into the faces of people who are super cocky.)
The stop? San Fransisco. Which, I believe we also saw last night. (Stupid show, messing up the flow.) Later we went to Providence, Rhode Island.
Demi Lovato wore a bulky silver and black ombre fringed jacket that was, sorry, hideous. She also had pink tips in her hair. Why, why, why? (Update: Oh, she had a sheer top on underneath, which made it all ten times worse.)
Britney Spears was in a long sleeved sparkly dress, with tightly curled hair that reminded me of the 90’s. (I root for her, but I can’t help but notice her skin looks leathery, especially her face. Can’t a sistah get a Clarisonic?)
So, who might be worth winning 5 million dollars?
? He sang an original called “All These People.” He pumped up the crowd, but I was not overwhelmingly impressed. L.A. Reid said he was what they needed. Spears thought he was adorable and Lovato said he had swag. Cowell said he had steel in his eyes. I’m not sure why the show insists on everyone voting after they all give such positive feedback. It doesn’t come as a surprise that they voted him through.
Lexa Berman singer- She was wearing an all black outfit that reminded me of what Olivia Newton John wore at the end of Grease. This is a competitive diva who was totally rude. “My dream comes true or I have to go marry rich into someone’s family.” Jesus. Cowell said, “you’re Jersey Shore meets the Kardashians.” And she LIKED that and said she’ll take it. Gross. Spears noted it was boring and all in one tone. Lovato said she was gorgeous but that Berman wasn’t likeable and overconfident. Cowell said he liked her attitude but that she wasn’t a great singer. Still, he gave her a yes. Spears and Lovato said no.
Dylan Osborn singer – Lovato was smitten with his looks and eyes. But she didn’t feel his vocals were strong enough.
Ezekiel McCarter singer- He had a six pack. But he did not have a good voice.
Tommy Patterson singer- “You can’t destroy that song, sweetie,” Spears said. AND THAT IS WHY I LOVE HER.
Jason Brock singer – He does tech support but boy, can he sing.
There was an entire section about how attractive people just couldn’t sing. Demi Lovato, in particular, enjoyed telling boys that they were cute. She’s interested in flirting with people, and it’s… I don’t know, awkward. Cowell is also blatant in his love for a certain type of woman. I despise him.
Patrick Ford singer – He is obsessed with Britney Spears. He thought they could be siblings. He brought some roses out for Spears. And, right away, she could tell he was … loony. And he picked “Circus” to sing, which .. you don’t sing another artists song in front of them. At least not unless you can do it justice. And he did not. And then he didn’t want to leave the stage. Spears was wincing and obviously feeling awkward. Yikes! Why let a possible stalker get that close to their target?!
Carly Rose Sonenclar singer – This is a smart, sweet young girl. She sang “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone and she was THE BEST. Ugh, so good! Like Nora Jones. She got a well-deserved standing ovation from all four judges. Spears called her a diva (in a good way.)
Commercials hyped during The X Factor Season 2
- The Mob Doctor – a new TV series that looks incredibly cheesy. It stars Jordana Spiro (My Boys) and I really… I just don’t think I will watch it at all.
- Glee (yes!)
- Carrabas (Such a great restaurant.)
- PNC bank
- Kia Optima LX 2013
- Bones, new on Monday (She had a baby and now she’s wanted by the police? I do not miss this show.)
Stray observations about The X Factor Season 2
- Demi Lovato looks a lot like Hayden Panettiere in terms of face shape.
- Britney Spears and Demi Lovato both have so much money and stylists, but they wear such awful outfits.
- I want to see Jason Brock guest star on Glee. Do a crossover, please?
