“The Murder of One” airs tonight on The CW. Fans can expect plenty of angst, scheming and heartbreak.

The Vampire Diaries “A Murder of One” Summary / Synopsis

Damon and Stefan focus a new project (killing the originals with the wood from the old sign) that will bring them closer to destroying Klaus, and they quickly bring Elena, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) in on their plan. Klaus threatens someone close to Bonnie, so she has no choice but to work on the spell he needs. Will it hurt her friends?

Additionally, Klaus and Rebekah (Claire Holt) find the perfect motivator to convince (formerly suicidal) Finn to cooperate with them (Sage), but Rebekah is more interested in her own brutal plan to take revenge on Damon (Ian Somerhalder.) Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) emotional turmoil leads him to a dangerous confrontation with Klaus and, later, to a heartbreaking moment with Elena (Nina Dobrev.)
