Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) are not even frenemies on The Vampire Diaries. They’re full on arch-rivals. But they’re share a hell of a lot. And it goes beyond both of them being blonde vampires, or having eyes for Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino.)

Daddy Issues

Both of them have major issues with their Father’s. They’re both vampires and their fathers hate them for that. It might seem odd that Michael would hate his daughter when he created her, but he didn’t anticipate the blood lust.

Mother May I?

Caroline has a well-intentioned Mother, and so did Rebekah. Mrs. Forbes is no witch, but she has a position of power just like a witch did back in Rebekah’s time. Both Mom’s want to protect their children at any cost.

Personality

Rebekah is a bit more snappish than Caroline is these days, but they are both very girly. They’re both in the same mold of wanting to be cheerleaders, wear pink dresses (they both had pink dresses for the homecoming dance), participate, be the queen, etc. They also lend support to those around them, like Klaus or Tyler.

Dance Woes

Neither of these girls got to enjoy the Homecoming dance! Caroline was taken out by Tyler, and Rebekah was taken out by Elena. Poor Bek is still daggered, in fact. And for both of these blondes, going to the dance was a very important, big deal! They both just want to be normal and do normal things.
