The Borgias season 3 has already begun on Showtime this spring. There’s too much beauty here to not share. Many of the pictures here are newly released by Showtime, in a segment called “Creating the Borgias.” The show airs Sunday night at 10 pm, so make sure to check it out.

Italian Renaissance money – Gold and silver coins were used, carried in small pouches of silk or leather.

Italian Renaissance Shoes – They were slippers made of silk, with open backs and pointed toes with a slight roundness at the tip.

Borgias jewelry – Jewelry was a big deal during the Italian Renaissance, as it was a way to show how wealthy your family was. Many gemstones were used with gold.

Lucrezia’s hair – Women during this time period wore hairnets aka “snoods” that often had gemstones sewn into them.
