Sean the insurance agent had his first one-on-one date with Emily Maynard in tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette 2012. The date card said “Sean, love takes no prisoners.”
They received a tour of London on their very own red double decker tour bus. Big Ben whizzed by, as the two held hands and took pictures at Westminster Station and Buckingham Palace. What was funny was to hear Emily tell Sean what the landmarks were, because she was clearly repeating something she’d just read in and was meant to pass it off like she already knew the information. Girl, we wouldn’t fault you for needing to read from a pamphlet!
They both agreed that good guys, and good girls, are hard to come by. “Guys that usually look like you, are really boring,” Emily confessed before adding, “But you’re the opposite of boring!” They certainly made a cute couple. Sean held her purse (so many points!)
During the date they “stumbled” upon Speaker’s Corner and instead of talking about the power of free speech, Sean talked about what he thought about love. And he sounded … well, damn smart. “I’m searching for that great love. I haven’t found it yet, but I’m hopeful that I will. And just like I felt, Emily told the camera that it was hot to hear him talk confidently about his thoughts on love. Sean was acing this date!
Though she’d lost her voice by this time, Emily explained how excited she was to have a romantic dinner in the Tower of London. “Sean is totally my prisoner of love tonight.” The area was lit with red, luminescent candles. And much as I want to mock the idea of eating at a prison (especially where all those beheaded wives were stuck!) it was somehow kind of … exciting. They should have been locked in there for added effect!
Emily told Sean that she wants a lot of kids – asap. But, “no pressure!” Luckily, he said he was excited to be a father. When he said he was thinking about two, I could feel Emily not loving his answer. But he seemed open to more. I can’t help but wonder, how many children does Emily want?
It was no surprise when Sean got a rose. I think he’d be a great match for her, even though I think Arie is cuter.
