Ashley Hebert could have been remembered solely for being one of the sweetest and cutest of The Bachelorette‘s, instead it seems she’s going to be remembered for having the worst luck on the show.

The Bachelorette 2011: Highlights of Week 3

Ben C.

Ben, a 28 y ear old lawyer, is the first in this episode who gets a one on one date. The date card says “Love strikes in a flash.” The pair learned a dance, and Ashley surprised Ben by putting him at the front of a flash mob put together by Flash Mob America. Then Far East Movement performed. Talk about an unusual dance. Been seemed sincere, and open. Let’s root for him.

Roasted

When the contestants have to roast Ashley, William goes too far and says, “I thought I signed up to be with Emily or Chantal.”

Playing Dumb?

After the cruel roast the guys put on, Ashley just wanted one of the guys (any of them, come on!) to comfort her. Instead, almost all of them decided to talk about themselves.

Ryan

One genuine bachelor on the show is Ryan. He got a rose early on, and that’s good.

Bentley

“For her to give another guy a rose helps me justify it in my mind. I’m checking out.” Bentley says this after Ashley saying that him leaving would be incredibly painful. When she trusts him enough to tell him how someone (Michelle Money) warned her that he might not be on the show for the purest of reasons, it was a bad move. Because Bentley tells the camera, “That was close.” He’s not there for Ashley at all. Bentley is a huge villain, and it’s hard to see how he’ll ever redeem himself after being known as the villain on this show. Looks like a large line-up of talk shows is in his future…dammit.

“There’s something about him that’s so sincere, that I just know he’s my guy,” Ashley said. She said she was in love with him. It’s horrible. Right after that, Bentley tells the camera how he doesn’t want to stay here, Ashley isn’t his type, and he just wants to walk away. He proceeded to pack up (weird coincidence that it was the same morning Ashley woke up knowing she was in love) unceremoniously. He lied and told the guys he was leaving to be with his daughter, which he told the camera isn’t true. “I had the opportunity and I played everyone. That’s something that’s never been done before.” – “I’m gonna make Ashley cry. I hope my hair looks okay.” Yes, he really did say that.  And then he lied to Ashley about why he was leaving, and she still cried, of course.

“I’m ready for my happy ending. And I thought it was with him.” – Ashley, talking about Bentley

J.P

He unfortunately got the date right after a crushed Ashley was dealing with Bentley leaving. This 34 year old construction manager from New York probably didn’t bank on being a shoulder to cry on. But the pair got into pjs by a fire and just talked and were low-key. It cheered Ashley up a bit. “J.P. over Bentley in the kiss department,” she admitted to the cameras. Yes!

William

Although he preyed on Ashley’s insecurities just to get the funny, he was given the final rose.

Jeff

Zorro unmasked himself but didn’t get a rose. “I came here for the chance to maybe fall in love. But she decided that I’m not the one,” he said. And then he set his mask on fire. How poetic. No, no, I’m gonna go with creepy. How creepy!
