On The Bachelorette 2011, Ashley once again is afraid this whole process won’t work for her. Sigh. Although she made a connection with Ben F., the guys got kinda ugly in a physical fight challenge (seriously, who thought that was a good idea?) and her 2-on-1 date went worse than usual. You’re supposed to want to be The Bachelorette, right? In the case of Ashley’s season I just feel constantly bad for her.
I’m starting to see a pattern. How many times do we have to hear “X (whatever exotic place they are) is the perfect place to fall in love.” (No wonder NBC has a new show about the worst places to fall in love.)
The Bachelorette 2011: Highlights of Week 5
Ben F. the Suave Dork
This is the winemaker who looks like a brunette Dax Shepard. This pair had the first 1-on-1 date. During the last group date, this pair really bonded. I was eager to see more of them together, being cute, in a montage of some sort. The duo went shopping on the streets, and a cute montage is what we got. “The more I get to know him, the hotter he becomes,” Ashley said. That’s what girls always say when they start really feeling for someone.
Ames our Hero
I just need any reason to mention him. He says “process” like “pro-cess.” Cute. He looks like Harry Connick Jr. Looking like a celebrity isn’t mandatory, but it can certainly help.
Later on, he picked the pink uniform for boxing because he was way too polite to snatch any other colors. His reservation makes him seem even sweeter. Unfortunately, Ashley said watching the guys boxing was hot, so she might be looking for a more aggressive type…
While fighting Ryan, Ames gets pummeled pretty badly. Ashley has him escorted to an ambulance when he’s clearly not feeling himself.
Under the Bus
William said he didn’t want to throw Ben C. under the bus…and then proceeded to throw him under the bus. William cared more about winning than about Ashley’s feelings. I wonder if Ben really did want to leave and go on dating websites, or if William made that up.
Three isn’t Good Company
Ben C. and William got the 2-on-1 date. It’s always fun to watch, but isn’t fun for the dudes to be on. I was hoping they’d both be cut, but especially William. And guess what, neither got a rose! Nice. I’m totally psychic.
“The truth is, I’m still thinking about Bentley.” Ashley can’t get over Bentley and wants closure. Like any person, she lies and says that it’s what she needs to move on. Next week in Hong Kong, Bentley is back.
Fill in the Blank
“I see this big ___, my jaw drops.” – Ben F. (temple)
“I just want to ___ on him.” – Ashley about Ben F. (jump)
“Someone’s gotta get their ass ___, and it cannot be me.” – JP (kicked)
