THE BACHELOR 2012 – How Courtney Robertson made her apology
| March 6, 2012 at 12:16 PM ESTAfter a public spanking, she’s ready to say she’s sorry. Do you believe her?
Courtney Robertson has been the infamous villain of The Bachelor 2012, so for The Bachelor: Women Tell All special, what was her method of smoothing things out nicely?
Tears. Of course there were tears. And you can be the judge for yourself whether they were real or fake. And if you do think they were real, you still have to decide whether they were about being put on the spot or truly feeling badly. While she said she felt “humiliated” for how she acted, the women were skeptical that she was being genuine.
Chris Harrison asked the model from Santa Monica, California how she was dealing with the current press. It was clear this was one of the reasons she was sorry. Because she’d been publicly spanked. “It’s been really hard, to say the least. Not in a million years did I expect for it to turn out like this and it’s affecting my family negatively and my friends. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to go through and I just can’t apologize enough. No one gives you a manual on how to be on The Bachelor and how to handle things, and I handled it poorly,” Robertson explained.
“I have seen things in myself that I know I need to work on and I didn’t come here expecting for you guys to accept my apology at all. I’m just saying I’m sorry.”
“I’m sorry, I take it all back. I thought I did the best that I could. I’m really sorry I hurt your feelings, all of you. And you may say it’s not genuine, but I’m going through real emotions and I don’t like being torn apart — my family, my friends and the tabloids — it’s awful. I didn’t think it through,” Robertson said while bursting into tears, losing the composure she had maintained throughout most of the interview.
Blakely Shea asked for an apology, and she got one. (It was because Robertson had called her a stripper.) Emily O’Brien wasn’t ready to accept any apology after Robertson had already rejected hers earlier during the show.
Jennifer Fritsch had one of the best points of the night when she said, “When you apologized to Ben about how you treated us, it wasn’t to us, it was to Ben. And so, to me looking at it now, it still feels like it was because you wanted to go to the next level with Ben. You wanted to be top two and it might not have had anything to do with feeling bad about what you said to any of us.
“I wish that they had a chance to get to know me better and know my story a little bit. I just want to say sorry. I came into this with the same hopes and dreams that you guys all did. We all came here for the same reasons, for Ben, and I’m sorry for the things I’ve said and if I’ve hurt your feelings — anyone, everyone — I’m really sorry for that. I hope you guys can find it in your heart to forgive me. I’m not a mean-spirited person. It brought out the worst in me and I can’t apologize enough, I really can’t.” – Courtney Robertson Quotes
