Here’s the best quotes from the new FX series, The Americans.

The Joseph Weisberg created series stars Keri Russell as Elizabeth Jennings, and Matthew Rhys as Phillip Jennings.  They’re a fake couple who are actually KGB agents, and have very real children who live in their suburban house.

Everything can be said about their relationship in this one exchange…
Phillip: You’re my wife.
Elizabeth: Is that right?

He must have been internally smirking…
Guy: Especially those Russians.
Phillip: Oh yea they’re the worst.



We think we know where she stands on this…
Elizabeth: What would you tell them, Phillip?
Phillip: The truth.
(Elizabeth slaps him.)

And a bit of dry humor rounds out this batch…
Elizabeth: I’m not finished with them yet. They don’t have to be regular American’s. They can be Socialists.
