Russell Armstrong was a hot topic of discussion on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion special. His suicide happened roughly six months ago. In the meantime, Taylor Armstrong has not stayed silent. She’s even written a book.

One of the first questions Andy Cohen asked was about which ladies thought that the season should have aired at all. All of them, even Taylor, thought it should have except for Camille Grammer. She said she was thinking about Russell’s children. Cohen pressed, asking if perhaps it was because she was painted once again as a bit of a villain who first spoke openly about Taylor’s domestic violence situation on film. This was denied.

All of the women were also asked about their initial reaction in hearing that Russell had committed suicide. TMZ was cited twice as the first source. Kyle Richards thought it was false. Taylor said, “At that point it didn’t even matter to me, because I was suffering a tremendous loss.”

Taylor admitted that she’d agreed to be on a reality TV show hoping that it would deter Russell from his abusive behavior. When asked why Russell would agree to be on a show like that, she said that he had an extremely narcissistic personality that might have been part of a mental disorder. He would frequently go to Taylor and tell her how beloved he was

Another illumination was about a particularly crass text that he sent to Taylor at midnight on her 40th birthday, while she was in Vegas. Lisa Vanderpump read the text, and witnessed Taylor crying. When asked about what the text said, Lisa deferred to Taylor. Instead of encouraging them to move on, Taylor said it was all already out there. But Lisa still hesitated, and seemed uncomfortable. What she said was that it was very vile and not something that a man who loves his wife would say to her. It included phrases like, “you f*#cking whore.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion special part 2 and 3 air over the next two Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
