‘Survivor’ and ‘Amazing Race’ stars Amber and Rob have baby girl

Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich are proud parents.

Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich of “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” and “Rob and Amber: Against the Odds” gave birth to a baby girl back on July 4th. I’m sort-of surprised this wasn’t its own reality show. “Amber and Rob’s Fireworks” or “Who’s Our Little Patriot?”

They actually managed to keep this from the press for a whole month, so that’s cool. The baby is named Lucia Rose Mariano and was born at 6 lbs, 11.5 oz and measuring 19 1/4 in long. The mother and baby are both doing just fine.

Papa Rob told People magazine, “Lucia is a great eater and sleeps a lot, however she tends to be a bit of a night owl like her daddy at times. She is a perfect baby and we could not have asked for anything more. We are over the moon with happiness at her arrival!”

You know what I’ve always found funny? “The Bachelor” and shows of that ilk never actually spawn a happy couple (save one), but there are several reality TV show couples from shows that aren’t dating-centric. This is a perfect example. Congratulations to the Marianos.
