‘Southland’ Fans Can Relax in TNT’s Hands

Good news for Southland fans! TNT has renewed the series for a third season. Officially, “The network has ordered 10 episodes for the third season, which is slated to begin airing in January 2011.” You may think 10 episodes isn’t a lot, but season two of Southland was only able to have six episodes. Many other great shows have shorter seasons, such as Weeds, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Party Down, Skins… It’s about quality, not quantity.  Southland originally aired on NBC, but they canceled it after one season. TNT rescued it. This is why TNT has legions of loyal fans, and NBC is sitting at the lunch table with the dumb jocks who watch Deal or No Deal.
