Sienna Miller‘s turn at playing Tippi Hedren is worth much more than just one look. Let your gaze linger.
The Girl will air on HBO this October, and Miller plays the legendary blonde actress Tippi Hedren (The Birds, Marni.)
Movie Synopsis per IMDB: A look at the relationship between filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and actress Tippi Hedren.
The movie was directed by Julian Jarrold and written by Gwyneth Hughes. Lived by Tippi Hedren and Alfred Hitchcock, it was now brought to life with Sienna Miller and Toby Jones.
Lovers of 50’s & 60’s style will simply devour the beautiful hair, makeup and costume design used to transform Miller.
Although everyone who is part of the film is important, we would like to bring special attention to: Darryl Hammer (Production Design), Dianna Cilliers (Costume Design), Francesca Van Der Feyst (Key Hair Stylist), Hetta Burger (Wardrobe Supervisor), Rick de Souza (Set Costumer), Julita De Wet (Costume Assistant), Noluthando Mathe (Costume Assistant), Melissa Moritz (Assistant Costume Designer)
Although Hedren never wanted to be compared to Grace Kelly too much, the fashion and style of this era means that if you are a fan of that look, you’ll enjoy the looks in The Girl. And Miller’s way of holding herself wonderfully captures a self-aware, feminine beauty of the early 60’s. Courtesy of HBO, I have already been able to see and judge this portrayal. I happily found that Miller conveyed an incredible amount of vulnerability, graciousness and strength.
The Girl premiere date is October 20 2012 on HBO.
