X Factor Where Are They Now: Season 2 Winner Tate Stevens| October 23, 2013 at 9:00 AM EST
We’re getting into the thick of the X Factor 2013 and on our way to having a third season winner, but what’s up with the first two winners? On Tuesday we checked up on Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro and today we’re looking into what’s up with Season 2 winner Tate Stevens.
After winning The X Factor on Dec. 20, 2012, Tate got to work right away on his debut album. The first single from the album, “Power of a Love Song” was released on March 12, 2013 with the self-titled album following on April 23. The album debuted well on the Billboard charts and sold 17,000 copies in its first week.
Things were looking promising but sales didn’t continue and “Power of a Love Song” peaked at No. 49, no other singles followed. Reports indicate that Tate was dropped by the RCA Nashville label this past August.
So Tate at least got his album out, unlike Melanie Amaro, but he lost the backing of the label that signed him as part of his X Factor Season 2 win.
Things are not looking so well for X Factor winners. Can this season be different?
