The X Factor 2013 Auditions Episode 4 Recap: Short Night, Tall Talent| September 20, 2013 at 12:50 AM EST
Thursday night’s episode of The X Factor 2013 was a short and sweet one, but there were some pretty talented singers that we’re sure to see a lot more of this season.
Andrew Scholz. He’s got the look and the sound. He doesn’t exactly have a great stage presence. And the female judges seemed to agree with me. They think he’s cute, but not quite the right for the stage? But Simon disagrees with them. He likes his charisma and charm and his voice. Simon asks him to sing something else. So he does. And it’s better. And the audience loves him. So Simon wins. Andrew gets four yeses and moves on to the next round.
Blake Shankle. Well he thinks he’s awesome and he’s not. He might have perfect teeth and perfect hair as Kelly pointed out, but his voice is anything but. Maybe he should try acting instead. The judges don’t let him through. Thankfully.
Ellona Santiago. She’s a tiny little 16-year-old with a great big voice. And she also knows how to command a stage. She’s got spunk, sass and I knew right away Simon was going to love her. And he did. So did the others. She got four easy yeses and moves on to the next round.
Stone Martin. First of all, 14 is too young. I will never stray from my opinions on that. Secondly, he’s not ready yet. He’s not strong enough of a singer yet. He’s got GREAT potential, but I think it’s not the right time for him. But the judges thought he was more than ready. He’s onto the next round.
Ashley Williams. Oh look, it’s someone else doing “I Will Always Love You.”I I think she had a good tone to her voice and is a perfectly good performer. But I think the audience overreacted to her performance. I felt like it was just OK. So she gets four easy yeses.
