The Voice 2013 Top 6 are taking on two songs tonight, giving them a double shot at getting voting into the Season 5 semi-finals.

Which of the Top 6 — Tessanne Chin, James Wolpert, Will Champlin, Jacquie Lee, Matthew Schuler and Cole Vosbury —will shine tonight? We’ll be live blogging the performances tonight to help you decide. As always, I’ll be reviewing each performance and assigning a letter grade to each. I’ll also be sharing with you how to vote for your favorites. So let’s go!

The Voice 2013 Top 6 Performances

Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury, “Rich Girl.” Blake. Why aren’t you giving him something newer and fresher? He can sing his ass off, but you’re trying to get people to download his music. I’m not sure this will help Cole at all. It was incredibly boring and Cole was kind of a one-note on it for most of the song. He sounded great, but I don’t see big things coming out of this performance.

Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin, “Redemption Song.” I liked this side of Tessanne. It was sweet and tender but still powerful and emotional. She held back when she should and let go when she should. I think her performance was fantastic. But will voters and downloaders respond to it?

Team Christina’s Matthew Schuler, “Story of My Life.” I think Matthew is doomed. He’s a fantastic performer but this song is not going to save him. He needed a really strong song that everyone would love. I thought his vocals were spot-on as were his emotions. So the performance was solid, but I don’t think he’s going to make it this week.

Team Adam’s Will Champlin, “A Change is Gonna Come.” I loved the start on the piano. And the rest of the song too. It had the perfect build. It started mild, then it got bigger and bigger until it exploded. Will is good and I’m glad people are seeing this. They didn’t see it at first. But I think they do now and this performance should help him keep his stride.

  • Performance grade: A+

Team Adam’s James Wolpert, “Fell In Love With a Girl.” I liked seeing James with a guitar, but again, I don’t think this was the right song for this point in the game. If voters go with Will, they won’t go with James too. I think this is the week one of them cancels the other out. And from this performance, it might be James. It was a fine performance, but it wasn’t outstanding.

  • Performance grade: B
  • How to vote for James: 1-855-864-2305

Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee, “Cry Baby.” When I think of Jacquie, I never think of Janis Joplin. Ever. But she made this song work. It was powerful and the vocals were perfect. I didn’t get the emotion Christina was hoping for, but this girl is a kid. What can you expect. Great performance.

  • Performance grade: A+
  • How to Vote for Jacquie: 1-855-864-2306

Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury, “Better Man.” Zzzzzzz. Is this guy trying to go home? I hope he has a large enough fan base because neither performance tonight is going to get him any new votes or downloads. And don’t get me wrong, I think he has an amazing voice with a tender tone. But this performance was incredibly boring.

  • Performance grade: B-

Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin, “Unconditionally.” Well the first thing I can say is this performance of the song is better than Katy Perry could ever imagine to pull off. So that in itself says that Tessanne is ready to go. She needs signed and to start making records immediately. As always, her performance was flawless.

  • Performance grade: A
  • How to Vote for Tessanne: 1-855-864-2302

Team Christina’s Matthew Schuler, “When A Man Loves a Woman.” I thought this song was a bad idea, but then I really loved the arrangement. This performance was really, really good. I wonder if this can be a game changer. One thing is for sure, the outcome tomorrow night is going to be interesting.

  • Performance grade: A+
  • How to Vote for Matthew: 1-855-864-2303

Team Adam’s Will Champlin, “Hey Brother.” This song choice actually makes me nervous for Will. I’ve apparently become a Will fan without realizing it, so I’m now rooting for him I guess. Anyway, I loved the performance. Love the banjo, the vocals, the ease he had performing the song. I liked it  a lot. I’m just not sure the voting public will.

  • Performance grade: A+
  • How to Vote for Will: 1-855-864-2304

Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee, “The Voice Within.” Ack. I didn’t like this performance at all. I think she was tying to channel Christina too much and it came off very shouty and screechy.

  • Performance grade: B-
  • How to Vote for Jacquie:  1-855-864-2306

Team Adam’s James Wolpert, “I’d Do Anything For Love.” I thought this song choice was horrible and actually thought Adam was trying to sabotage James. But then he and his version of the song actually impressed me. I thought it was way more fun than it should have been. This is going to be one tough elimination this week.
