the-voice-2013-top-5-finalists

Tonight on The Voice 2013, the Top 5 semi-finalists will give everything they’ve got for a shot at next week’s season finale.

Team Adam still has all three — Tessane, James and Will, while Teams Christina and Blake each have one left — Jacquie and Cole, respectively. Cee Lo will still be watching from the side lines.

As always, I’llbe live-blogging the Top 6 performances. I’ll review each performance and assign the letter grade I think each one deserves. I’ll also be letting you know how to vote for your favorite artists from the night. So let’s get to it.

The Voice 2013 Top 5 Performances

Team Adam’s James Wolpert, “With Or Without You.” OK. So good song choice. A lot of people know and love the song. But if fans got past the first few minutes when he actually took the song somewhere, I’d be surprised. I feel like it started off so “meh” that people may have checked out. I think James is doomed. Unless nostalgia for the song alone gets people to download and vote. I did really like the end. James is very talented, but I don’t think he had the moment he needed at this point in the game.

Team Adam’s Will Champlin, “Carry On.” Well first of all, you don’t need to reinvent a song that no one has ever performed on a TV shot. But I’ll ignore that because the performance was fantastic. This just happens to be my favorite song buy fun. so I was pretty happy with it. I didn’t like that they shorten the song by cutting some of the greatest lyrics, but I know they had to cut it for time. On second thought, I’m not sure. I don’t know if this will fare well for him. Now I’m nervous.

Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee, “Angel.” This was a tender and sweet performance but still managed to show how powerful of a singer Jacquie is. I think this was the right moment to get her that spot in the finale. But two people have to go, so it’s just so hard to tell. I liked the performance, though.

  • Performance grade: A

Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury, “Shameless.” I didn’t really expect this performance to be so subdued. It was nice to see him at the piano, but up until the end, it was pretty boring. I did like his voice a lot on this performance though. And the country vote will definitely respond to this.

  • Performance grade: A
  • How to vote for Cole: 1-855-864-2304

Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin, “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” I thin Tessanne just landed herself in the finale. So it’s going to be sad when two of these five acts have to leave the competition. I think this song is cliche and boring, but people eat this cheesy stuff up. And since her vocals were perfect like always, she’s golden.

  • Performance grade: A+
  • How to vote for Cole: 1-855-864-2305

What did you think of tonight’s performances? Who do you think will be moving on to the finale next week?
