This week on The Voice 2013 we said goodbye to Team Adam’s James Wolpert and Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury. Cole’s exit wipes out Blake’s team.

Upon their exits, both artists told reporters that they weren’t really surprised with their eliminations.

“I was super prepared for it, but it’s still painful when you’re up there and you have to say goodbye to everybody in the moment,” Wolpert told Entertainment Weekly. He added that he’s not looking at his elimination as a negative thing, but as “an opportunity to start looking toward the future.”

So what comes next for James? “I think the next goal is going to be to cut a record as soon as I can,” he said, “and put that out into the universe and go on tour as soon as possible.”

Like James, Cole said he had a feeling things would go down like they did.

“Even though I was praying for a miracle, I knew my number was up today, so today was a different experience,” Cole told EW. “I think me and James both were just kind of like, ‘Yeah, it’s us two. It’s going to be us two.’ We knew it all day long.”

Cole says he’s not sure he would have been much happier had he made it to next week’s finals.

“I think I would have been upset if I had made it to the finale as well, because it’s the fact that a chapter is closing in my life,” he said. “It’s bittersweet, but I feel very content with everything…  it was an honor to get to be apart of all this.”
