What to Expect When Scandal Returns| February 26, 2014 at 10:11 PM EDT
Our long national nightmare is finally over. In 24 hours a brand new Scandal will grace the airwaves and all is finally right again. Even better is we get eight straight weeks of new episodes with no reruns in between! Are you stocked up on popcorn? How’s your red wine stash? Picked up all your clothes from the cleaners? Got the second, secret phone handy?
A lot has happened in season three. So much so that I can barely remember it all and I’ve seen every episode at least three times. Thursday night’s episode is titled “Ride, Sally, Ride” and it’s not about the late astronaut, natch. No, the eponymous Sally is none other than VP Sally Langston as she drops a bombshell announcement. We know she’s not going to confess in killing her husband so unless it’s anything other than that I’m not sure what kind of bombshell we can expect.
It’s no secret that I haven’t been Scandal’s biggest fan this season. That doesn’t mean I’m not excited about its return, however. Even when Scandal is mediocre it’s still crazy exciting to watch. There’s no doubt that Shonda Rhimes and company have stepped it up to give us eight phenomenal, jaw-dropping episodes. Bring it on.

“Ride, Sally, Ride” is directed by Tom Verica and written by Raamla Mohamed and airs on ABC Thursday at 10/9c.
