On Thursday July 16, comedians Sam Tripoli and Ian Edwards along with dancers Dakota Ferreiro and Tonya Kay will join host Shannon Elizabeth for the premiere episode of “Live Nude Comedy.” The show is an old-school variety show meets a Vegas showgirl number, as it combines stand-up, sketch comedy and a good old-fashioned burlesque show.
“American Pie” star Shannon Elizabeth hosts this bawdy new comedy series and the first six episodes feature comedians Andy Dick, Whitney Cummings, Harris Wittels, KT Tatara, Tig Notaro, Mike Young, Chris D’Elia, Michael Kosta, Steve Byrne and Mike Faverman.
Gary Binkow, CEO of backing company Salient Media, says, “‘Live Nude Comedy’ takes an old school variety show and turns it on it’s head. We’re trying to break out of the standard “brick wall” stand-up comedy shows. It’s not for the faint of heart and I applaud Showtime for taking a chance on this innovative idea.”
