Its hard for me to do much more than squawk at you guys the names of David Tenant, Ethan Hawke, Jeremy Irons and Shakespeare. But I suppose you’ll be needing more information than that, eh?

PBS is airing “Shakespeare Uncovered” in six parts, on three consecutive Friday evenings at the end of January 2013.

A celebrity host will take you through one or two plays for an hour. And you’ll get two hours each of these Friday nights.

What you can expect are interviews (actors, directors, general smart people), video comparisons of the different plays, and even live performances from the Globe.

Ethan Hawke will explore “Macbeth,” Joley Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave will discuss the comedies of “Twelfth Night” and “As You Like It.”

Derek Jacobi will talk you through “Richard II,” then Jeremy Irons will discuss both “Henry IV” and “Henry V.” Fans will want to see the special clips of the upcoming “Great Performances” featuring Irons as Henry IV and Tom Hiddleston as Prince Hal/Henry V.

And that dreamy David Tennant will lead a discussion on “Hamlet,” before director Trevor Nunn takes the reigns on “The Tempest.”
