Sarah Michelle Gellar has played opposite herself before, but playing twins is still always a challenge. (And her previous experience was playing Buffy against the Buffy Bot on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was a little different since sex robots are programmed a bit differently than us humans…)
Gellar returns to TV this fall in the CW show Ringer. She plays estranged twins Siobhan (seriously, why did they make it such a hard name to say/type?) and Bridget. (Also, what parent gives one kid such a standard name and then gives the other one that is so much more exotic?!) In this new interview, Gellar talks a little bit about the characters she’ll be playing and what the hardest part of playing twins is. After all, playing two characters in the same show is tough enough without having to be one who is pretending to be the other.
Catch the series premiere of Ringer on Tuesday, Sept. 13 on The CW.
