I’ve tried to see how this could be different, I’ve tried to spin it… but there is really no getting around it. Ryan O’Neal hit on his own daughter Tatum at his partner Farrah Fawcett’s funeral. Sigh. Ryan recently participated in a profile of Farrah for Vanity Fair that basically became an airing of the family’s dirty laundry. An excerpt after the jump.
“I had just put the casket in the hearse and I was watching it drive away when a beautiful blonde woman comes up and embraces me,” Ryan told me. “I said to her, ‘You have a drink on you? You have a car?’ She said, ‘Daddy, it’s me—Tatum!’ I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it’s my daughter. It’s so sick.”
“That’s our relationship in a nutshell,” Tatum said when I asked her about it. “You make of it what you will.” She sighed. “It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, and he was always a ladies’ man, a bon vivant.”
I mean, could this family be any more of a trainwreck? It’s so sad. The profile, titled “Beautiful People, Ugly Choices,” basically shows Ryan O’Neal for what he is: a womanizing, boozing degenerate and it completely reverses any good will he had accumulated during Farrah’s battle with cancer.
