Ricky Gervais: ‘You Lucky F*ckers’
| December 11, 2010 at 6:35 PM ESTHe insults golf, Iceland, Paula Abdul and then goes and defends The Elephant Man’s nether regions. Ricky Gervais is a comedic gem. Delightful in his delivery, he offers plenty of “it’s funny because it’s true” (or often true) bits in his HBO special called “Out of England 2.”
I was able to watch the special in advance, and I do suggest watching it. There are bits that are potentially insulting, but life has to be funny or else it’s all just terrible.
Ricky Gervais Quotes:
“You’re probably feeling very fortunate that you managed to get a ticket to see a living legend. I know, I know, you lucky f*ckers!”
“You can have too much of a good thing. Like Heroin. Although too much heroine is death, basically.”
“Where was I? Oh yes, famine. Famine is a problem.”
“Spiders, oh spiders. They’re always ready, aren’t they? They’re always ready for action, a spider. It’s always completely f*cking ready for action like that. Some animals are sometimes ready – you startle a cat and it goes Oohh! for a few seconds and then it goes back to chill. Most of the time a cat is just laying on the floor, on its side, all four limbs just stretched out in one direction. You will never see a spider like that. … They’re always ready, and they’re always ready in every direction like the f*cking Matrix.”
Ricky Gervais Out of England 2: The Stand-up Special airs 12/18/10 at 10 PM on HBO.
