Project Runway Recap -“Project Runway Superfan”

The Project Runway Challenge

Project Runway Super Fans were selected for makeover’s via pleading Youtube videos. Which is super sweet. It was a super sweet Super Fan experience, ya’ll! Tim Gunn made a point of saying this was the first time most of these women have ever been to New York City, which seems … I mean, I know fashion people think it’s the center of the world, but plenty of us haven’t had a chance to get to that one section of the USA, psh! (Nope, I haven’t been.)

“To see Tim in Person…is one of the best things ever, he is so great, so wonderful!” – Andrea Fisher

Camera phones were in full effect as a tour of Parson’s was employed. Hell, they were even excited to see the sewing room. (To be fair, I’ve always liked the octagonal pattern’s painted on it.)

Ding, ding: It’s the L’oreal Paris challenge.

Ken, of course, has to be the one to talk about how he’s nervous to sew and design for one of those mysterious “real women.” UGH. Groan.

Zanna Roberts Rasi joined the judging panel. I happen to adore her. But I do have a question...could she have been inspiration for the Emily Blunt

Meanwhile, Kate Pancakes (Kate Pankoke), at least musses up some enthusiasm, and even let it bolsters her ego to remember that she’s on “freaking Project Runway.” (And that’s a fair reaction, Kate is winning me over…)

“I get Jennifer, the one who didn’t even need a makeover.” – Bradon McDonald, dumbfounded (Whose sweet face later says, “Give me edge, make me look like a cut a bitch.”)

As Ken Laurence draws the most basic sheath dress ever, his client gushes about how, “this is super cool.”

How to pose for photos from the Project Runway judging panel. They are all standing in perfect positions. I am sending this to my Mom, who is always asking me to help her find a good pose. Maybe I will start an entire Pinterest board dedicated to this, IDK. Photo: Lifetime

Meanwhile, a strict Alexandria von Brommsen has the sweetest client, who looks like Rose Byrne. (And who Alexandria calls frumpy, or schlubby, or something. It was rude.)

The Project Runway Workroom

Helen Castillo creates a dress design that will flatter and please her client, and she’s really making it special for her.

“I can throw drama, too, honey.” – Alexander Pope

While the new roomies were trying to come in the room, Ken stood in the doorway and didn’t let anyone enter. So, a huge fight happened. Ken explodes again. And we even hear a producer on set try to help him calm down. But he diva’s-out. Talk about a headache.

Everyone meets in the workroom, and Ken meets with Tim Gunn separately. It’s time to have a conversation. At least Ken doesn’t sass Gunn.

Gunn was so sweet and nice to Ken. But I think he was a little too nice to him. Knowing that he had some support, Ken sat in the power pose and told everyone to blah blah blah, do what he says.

“This is a job, be professional.” – Kate Pankoke

Ken’s superfan talks about the judges and their thoughts on hemlines… “Nina would say ‘it’s very editorial’, and Heidi would want it shorter.” Cute!

I am so over hearing that commercial where the guy sings, “I wanna meet the cow who made this.” Oye. Yoplait, we are DONE with that one!
