This mid-season finale of Pretty Little Liars is going to be a doozy of a good time. Yup, a doozy! (Who says that word? We do! And Spencer Hastings probably used it when she was too young to cuss.)

We always read between the lines! Here’s how we play this PLL game. In bold, is the text released by ABC Family. And below that? An interpretation of what they’re really saying, and what to expect. We encourage you to play along by commenting with your thoughts.

Emily is caught in the crossfire when Maya’s murderer is revealed in “The Lady Killer,” the mid-season finale of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” airing Tuesday, August 28th (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT). Fans can catch up with this season’s episodes with an all day marathon leading into the mid-season finale beginning at 11:00 AM ET/PT.

Plan to plant yourself near a TV on Tuesday so that you can do your homework or work on your Etsy shop account while you re-live some juicy Hanna and Caleb moments. Yes, Netflix has other PLL episodes, but there’s something fun about watching it live with other’s – you can tweet relevant comments out into the universe. Plus, ABC Family has fun commercials. And how often can you say that about any network?

With Garrett’s trial for Maya’s murder starting, the town of Rosewood has become a media spectacle. At odds with her friends over Paige, Emily doesn’t know where to turn when the media attention becomes too much for her. “A” sees this as a perfect opportunity and takes advantage of the situation and sends Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer on a path to a possible truce. But is “A’s’ peace offering real or just a trap for a much darker ending?

A media spectacle, huh? Well, while we haven’t been at the center of any, we suspect there will be reporters trying to get juicy interviews. And who would be the juiciest interview “get”? That’d be Maya’s ex-girlfriend, Emily Fields. And who wants to bet that Emily is feeling camera shy (Wouldn’t you?)

Meanwhile, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer are betrayed as someone very close to them is revealed as part of the “A” team.

Okay, we’re thinking Paige is on the A-team, right? Who else could it be? Caleb? Wren? We want to hear your PLL theories!
