Let’s take a look at what Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily wore in Pretty Little Liars “Crazy”!
Hanna Marin – Ashley Benson
Hanna’s first outfit was the one pictured above, a lilac Rebecca Minkoff sleeveless blouse with peach colored jeans by DL1961, a Rebecca Minkoff purple crossbody bag, and Marc Jacobs Earrings. (The tan booties = also Rebecca Minkoff.) I love how elegant and summery this entire ensemble is, the colors are bright and refreshing like sherbert! I also have to say that Ashley Benson’s lightly tousled hair, and heavily lined eyes were really perfect with this look. This is an ultimate Hanna Marin style look! All thanks to costume designer Mandi Line!
Aria Montgomery – Lucy Hale
“Wait, why am I asking you? You wear forks for earrings.” – Ella Montgomery
Aria has never worn forks as earrings (at least not unadorned, made-into-art, and therefore valid cutlery!) so nyaaah! That said, she wore big gold colored triangle earrings in the first scenes of the episode, and I liked them. And I liked them even more the way her hair was blown out and straightened, and had a fabric headband placed a way’s back on her head. It’s remarkably youthful-meets-edgy! And that’s what you have to do when you’re a style-conscious teen, you create the illusion that you’re being more innocent than you really are! Plus, Alice in Wonderland means all girls have a secret weakness for a headband from time to time.
Emily Fields – Shay Mitchell
Ms. Fields has been transitioning her look slowly but surely, and she pulled it off beautifully with her first look of “Crazy.” Jeans were paired with a simple graphic T-shirt and a muted navy scarf was artfully twisted around her neck. (I, personally, can never wear scarves in the summer but people do and it works for them. I just imagine they may have sweaty necks!) Some might think this is a big deal, but for Emily she’s really showing more of her newer, more liberated adult self by making these tiny changes.
Spencer Hastings – Troian Bellisario
Oh, Spencer. You’ve tango’d with the nautical theme before, and this episode was no exception. In fact, it was yet another successful attempt at a theme that can often look too much like a costume. Her navy and white skirt A-line, short skirt, screamed “sailor” but she kept things cool and simple with a sleeveless, modest white blouse and — well, here’s a surprise, a majorly cool studded bag! Alert, alert – and then later we saw she was wearing these cream booties! Whatever, that is precious! I think the entire look was really artful!
Though her bright clothes are not up my alley, I love seeing them. That octagonal necklace was killer!
Mona – Janel Parrish
During the flashback where Alis’ Dad yelled at Hanna, she was looking exceptionally great in an indigo dress and peach jewelry.
