Paris Hilton may have been on the reality TV/socialite scene first, but many would argue that Kim Kardashian is the one who’s playing that role better these days in 2011. Just don’t bring it up with Paris.
During an interview with Dan Harris for ABC News, Paris Hilton awkwardly left after being asked a question that implied that someone else may have claimed the throne and title she once held.
“Do you feel as if people who have followed in your footsteps, like Kim Kardashian, have overshadowed you?” asked Harris.
“No, not at all,” replied Hilton. And she had a similar briskly paced “No” answer when Harris asked if the low ratings for her Oxygen reality TV show (“The World According to Paris”) upset her.
Pushing onward as Paris looked like a deer in headlights, Harris then asked, “Do you ever worry about your moment having passed?” And this is what caused Hilton to look offscreen to her publicist for the second time. After a snidely suppressed laugh, Paris was gone. That is, her visual was. But with her microphone still on, we could hear her say, “Well, I don’t want all this being used.”
After regrouping, Paris was all smiles with the following soundbyte: “I’ve been in this business for 15 years now so it’s been a very long time. And just like any other business person or someone in the industry it’s always important to reinvent yourself and come up with new projects,” the socialite said.
In a “look at the wacky things I do!” moment Paris proudly showed off the large dog mansion she has that is built in a replica of her house.
What do you think, who’s the reigning queen?
