Pick the Winning Oscar Dress, if You Dare!

This dress is prettier than the screenshot of it that I took. I swear!

Oscar fashion is difficult to predict, and it’s also one of the most fun aspects of the entire event. But you can now help choose what dress will be worn by a trophy present at the the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday, March 7th!

The nine dresses were all designed by up-and-coming fashion designers. Personally, I’m a big fan of the ice blue dress by Elda de la Rosa. But yikes, up-close the Ari Sheuhmelian dress looks like swatches of denim stitched together! Designer Ivy Higa took the “Swan Princess” look to a new level, but Oday Shakar made something worthy of a real princess.

Now through March 1st, you can vote for your favorite design on Oscar.com! The winning designer will be announced LIVE during the Oscars pre-show “Oscars Red Carpet… 2010” on ABC, beginning at 5pm PST / 8pm EST on March 7th! Then, see the winning design during the live Oscars telecast!

Beginning March 3rd, Oscar.com will host “Oscars Designer Challenge: Behind the Dress,” a web series hosted by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’s Carson Kressley! Follow the entire challenge through this exclusive web series – get to know the designers, models, and experience their journey to the Oscars!
