Once again, America has to take over something that isn’t theirs! The British series Skins is being “adapted” and made as an American show for MTV. Please do yourself a favor and watch the British series no matter what. If the American version is good, then we’ll be glad. But we’re not holding our breath about those odds.
Meanwhile, you can dress the new cast. Via press release:
The hit British teen series SKINS is being adapted for American audiences, and it’s coming to MTV on Monday Jan. 17 at 10/9C. From now through 12/31, you can create a unique “SKINS look” for either Michelle or Tony’s character. Remember, SKINS is real. So forget all those super high-end labels that no one can afford.
The 20 looks that get the most love will be featured on skins.tv. From there, the actors themselves, along with Series Costume Designer, Edward K. Gibbon, will choose the best look for each character. The two winners will attend the SKINS premiere party in NYC on Jan. 15 and will style Rachel or James for the night. Winners will also receive a $1k shopping spree each from the Diesel clothing store on Park Avenue, New York. So get styling and go to skins.tv on Jan. 10 to see whose fashion sense pays off.
Skins premieres on MTV January 17, 2011. Visit the Official MTV Skins site.
