There’s Just Something (Annoying) About Mila Hermanovski

Mila sometimes comes off as well-spoken, but more and more we’re finding that she’s just a snobby designer. Last week I wanted to comment about how I hated her star-inspired dress, but decided I’d just let it go. The neckline was sweet because it reminded me of a retro pin-up model. But the cut of the dress and the pattern were horrible. I was horrified they put her in the top three. So I was not at all surprised to hear that other designer’s didn’t really congratulate her in being in the top two.

Maya Lutz's creation.
What I’d like to know is why they put two so similar designers in this season of Project Runway. Mila Hermanovski is just like an older version of the equally attitude-ridden Maya Lutz. Not only do the pair look very similar with the same black hair and ‘in your face’ look, but in the challenge for episode 5 gave us two versions of virtually the same dress.
Ironically, Mila was quick to cattily talk to the camera about how odd it was that two designers were both using aqua blues, but when it came down to it – Mila and May’s designs were almost interchangeable. Same muted colors, same triangular color blocking – same and boring!

Like, totally OMG! A fashion designer on a reality show comes off as snobby? News alert! And two of them have currently fashionable haircuts, so they are virtually the same person! OMG! I rarely find such subtle insights on the internets… I’ll have to stay tuned to your deep wisdom!

My main point was their design aesthetic being the same, as you can see above in the two identical dresses.

not sure, other than color, what is identical about those 2 dresses. honestly, as much as i liked maya’s work, mila’s is the better of the 2, even if the color choice didn’t come out exactly as planned. i find it interesting how you diss mila hear but almost gush on her by the end of the show.
but, the bottom line is, whether or not you think there is something annoying about her (i find michael and nina to be the snobbiest of the bunch, to tell you the truth – but they are also typical of the garment industry crowd), she busted her ass to get onto the show, she stayed true to herself through the show, and her collection was one of the more coherent, polished ones shown. i think that shows her true worth as a designer, no?
