Today on the Dr. Oz show, Mike Karpenko stopped by to show him how to be a weight-loss warrior. What he demonstrated was a hardcore 5-minute workout that borrows techniques from mixed martial arts. View the video here.
The method Karpenko features is called TapouT XT. The intent is to burn fat, along with working on your abs and building muscles. (Don’t freak out, building lean muscles is what you want to do, it won’t make you look like He-man.)
While showing off the moves, viewers were treated to Karpenko’s entertaining, high jumping. He was also incredibly charismatic and enthusiastic. His energy? Tangible! (We just hope he’s a genuinely nice guy to boot.)
It’s worth noting that, as many commenters on the Dr. Oz website have mentioned, that this is a high impact workout and not suitable if you have knee or back problems.
If any of you guys ever like to pretend you have the kickass moves of Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner), or Lara Croft (is she still relevant?) then this is a great workout for you to try.
