In a statement released today by actress Maura Tierney, she says the reason for her “Parenthood”-delaying medical evaluation is due to a tumor discovered in her breast which requires surgery.
“My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition. I’m very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon,” says the 44 year-old actress. She won’t know a specific diagnosis until after the surgery to remove the tumor.
NBC’s new dramedy “Parenthood” was to anchor their Wednesday night lineup this fall but has now been pushed back to a mid-season premiere. Medical show “Mercy” will air in its place in September.
