Maura Tierney returns to Rescue Me

Maura Tierney of ER fame was set to be in the NBC show Parenthood, but she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The role later went to Lauren Graham. Now Tierney is in remission, and will be reprising her role on Rescue Me. Tierney’s rep told TV Guide that, “[Tierney] has finished treatment and is doing very well and is happy to move forward with the next phase of her life.” Whew!

For those unfamiliar with the show Rescue Me, the first three seasons are on Netflix Instant Watch, and Tierney won’t be on screen until 2011 – so you have time to catch up. Her first appearance was in the shows fifth season.
