As we come hurtling towards the final three episodes of Mad Men season 4, everything on the show is intensifying. In Hands and Knees, we saw that Lane Pryce might be leaving, Lucky Strike was leaving Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, Joan had gotten pregnant by Roger, and Don’s identity may be in jeopardy.
Last night we learned that Lane Pryce has a very tricky situation with his father. And it’s the kind of “tricky situation” where his Father still bosses him around and smacks him with his cane.
Joan predictably got pregnant by Roger, even though it seemed like we would never get more Joan/Roger on the show. Something that wasn’t made clear is if Roger knew that Joanie had gotten “procedures” done before. While we saw her go to a Doctor’s Office, we don’t know for sure if she terminated her pregnancy or not.
Jon Hamm gave a terrific performance this week, as we were made to remember how much trouble Don would be in should the United States realize he was a deserter. Faye helped him through his freak out, and proved to viewers that she’s a much different kind of woman than Betty.
Speaking of Mrs. Francis, it was ironic when she told her new hubby that she wanted no secrets. Why? Because she’s keeping Don’s secret for him. (Which, actually, is sweet.)
It seemed that Sally had been refusing to talk to father, so Don got Beatles tickets for them both. It’s nice to know that even in the 60’s Dad’s were doing anything to buy back their daughter’s love.
Do you think we’ll see more of Sally this season? Did Joan terminate her pregnancy? Will Don’s true identity be discovered? And how will SCDP survive without Lucky Strike?
