Lilly Scott Fills the Cracks in American Idol

Lilly Scott on American Idol PH: FOX
She’s the girl with the funky Regina Spektor voice and who looks like Duffy. …Dammit. I watch FIVE minutes of American Idol and I feel invested in one of these contestants now. But Lilly Scott (age 20) is very cool! She’s more than cool – she has an offbeat hipster/hippy vibe. I’m not PARTICULARLY digging those peacock feather earrings she wears in pictures, but her voice is better than good.
On American Idol last night, Scott sang “Fixing a Hole” by The Beatles. It’s a little known song, and Scott made me want to hear it again. Ellen DeGeneres summed it up well after Scott performed by saying, “That’s what we’re talking about!” Make a record already girl, I’m ready to buy it.
