Kim Kardashian’s ‘The Spin Crowd’ looks like The Babysitter’s Club (Celebrity Edition)
| August 10, 2010 at 11:11 AM EDTKim Kardashian may have a new season of her show (let’s be honest, she’s the star, right?) Keeping Up with the Kardashian‘s premiering this month, but that’s not nearly enough to keep her busy. So, she’s also executive producing the series that will follow that show: The Spin Crowd.
As Joel McHale said on The Soup, “I find it hard to believe this lives up to Kim Kardashian’s high standards.” And seriously, it looks that bad. Imagine a Who’s the Boss? remake starring Ke$ha.
Essentially, this is The Babysitter’s Club: Celebrity Edition. It’s a reality show about the people who pick up after celebrities, spin the bad PR, and help them function. It looks so whackadoodle that of course we’ll be watching the first episode.
From the release:
In the series, Jonathan (Cheban), Simon and their ever-ready Los Angeles staff at Command PR will execute red carpet events, cozy up to their celebrity clients and try to stay agile enough to keep last-minute mix-ups from spiraling into disasters. The ladies who round out Jonathan and Simon’s ambitious PR team will make sure the inter-office drama is always dialed up high.
Throughout the eight half-hour episodes, E! pulls back the velvet rope to show viewers what it’s like inside the manic world of A-List celebrity publicity, including all the excitement, histrionics and laughter generated by the Command PR team. Jonathan and Simon are quite the 21st century odd couple, not only working together, but also becoming roommates. The neat and stylish Simon moves into Jonathan’s home and quickly realizes the piles of dirty dishes, stacks of leftover pizza boxes, and midnight wake-up calls to discuss Jonathan’s next big idea for a client are more than he bargained for.
An all new season of Keeping up with the Kardashian’s premieres on E! Sunday, August 22nd at 10pm. The Spin Crowd premieres at 10:30.
